Bridge Financing
Definition 1.
A method of financing, used by companies before their IPO, to obtain necessary cash for the maintenance of operations.

Financing extended to a person, company, or other entity, using existing assets as collateral in order to acquire new assets. Bridge financing is usually short-term.
