The close is the period at the end of the trading session. Sometimes used to refer to closing price. Related: Opening.

1. The end of a trading session. The closing price is what's quoted in the newspaper. 2. The final procedure in a home sale, documents are signed and recorded. This is the time when the property ownership is transferred.
