Coverage Ratio
Definition 1.
A type of accounting ratio that helps measure a company's ability to meet its obligations satisfactorily.

A measure of a corporation's ability to meet a particular expense.

Definition 3.
The ratio of earnings to some given expense, such as interest or dividends paid. If a company is earning less than its dividend payout, for instance, trouble could be looming.
