Sector Weightings
Definition 1.
The percentage breakdown of stocks or bonds in a particular mutual fund''s portfolio into various stock and bond categories. Such decisions -- affecting asset allocation -- may well be the most important a fund manager makes. Also, a look at sector weightings can help you judge whether a mutual fund is investing in line with the way it markets itself, and whether such a fund helps or hurts your own efforts to diversify.
