Definition 1.
Refers to over-the-counter trading. Daily publication of the national quotation bureau that reports the bid and ask prices of thousands of OTC stocks, as well as the market makers who trade each stock. |
Definition 2.
A daily listing of bid and ask prices for over-the-counter stocks not included in the daily Nasdaq over-the-counter listings, published by the National Quotation Bureau and used by brokerages. |
Definition 3.
Daily listings of price quotations for thousands of over-the-counter securities not traded on Nasdaq. Published on pink paper by the National Quotation Bureau (a unit of Commerce Clearing House), The Pink Sheets list stocks that are smaller, newer, and generally riskier and less actively traded than those listed on Nasdaq and the other traditional exchanges. Also listed are the dealers who make a market in those securities. Due to the nature of pink sheet quotations -- the need for printing, distribution, etc. -- the market for pink sheet stocks is less efficient than for stocks traded on major exchanges. An electronic version of The Pink Sheets is known as the OTC Bulletin Board. |
Definition 4.
Daily printed listings containing quotations for thousands of over-the-counter stocks that are not listed on any of the major stock markets. These quotations are entered by dealers acting as Market Makers in the individual securities. The pink sheets are printed by the National Quotation Bureau. |
Definition 5.
A daily publication compiled by the National Quotation Bureau containing price quotations for over-the-counter stocks. Unlike a stock exchange, companies quoted on the pink sheets system are not required to meet minimum standards. |
